About Ristorante Pizzeria Ai Cocci

Ristorante Pizzeria Ai Cocci is one of those places in Rome that instantly feels warm and inviting the moment you walk by. Located on Via Luca della Robbia in the lively Trastevere area, this restaurant blends the relaxed charm of a neighborhood spot with the rich flavors people expect from Italian dining. The outdoor seating adds even more character, especially during the evening when the streets of Rome become full of energy, conversation, and the smell of fresh pizza coming from the kitchen. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, enjoy a long meal, and take in the local atmosphere without feeling rushed.

Inside, the menu brings together classic Italian comfort with plenty of variety. Thin, crispy pizzas arrive fresh from the oven, while pasta dishes and small plates make it easy to share different flavors around the table. There’s also a nice balance for different eating styles, so whether someone is looking for vegan options, vegetarian dishes, or lighter healthy choices, the selection feels thoughtful rather than limited. At the same time, the restaurant keeps that authentic Roman personality, offering hearty meals alongside late-night food that works perfectly after exploring the city.

The drink selection adds another layer to the experience. A glass of wine pairs naturally with pizza or pasta, although cocktails, beer, coffee, and even hard liquor are available for anyone wanting something different. Because of that mix, the atmosphere shifts comfortably throughout the day. Some guests stop by for a relaxed lunch, while others settle in during the evening for dinner and drinks with friends.

Takeout is available for days when sitting down is not part of the plan, yet dining in really captures the full mood of the restaurant. Between the welcoming setting, flavorful Italian dishes, and easygoing Roman vibe, Ristorante Pizzeria Ai Cocci feels like the sort of spot travelers remember after their trip and locals return to whenever they want a familiar meal in a comfortable setting.

Fantastic dinner experience. We arrived without a reservation on a Saturday and the team were really attentive and made a huge effort to get us a seat. We didn’t know what to expect going in but the food was outstanding, absolutely delicious and fantastic quality! Please try the fried artichoke if you go!! Thanks to the team for such a great meal and we can’t wait to come back

We had a really great experience at Ai Cocci. The food was delicious — the gnocchi were perfectly cooked and the sauce was full of flavor. The other dishes were also tasty and well prepared. The service was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and welcoming. A place definitely worth visiting if you’re in the neighborhood. I recommend making a reservation, as the restaurant is quite popular. A very positive experience overall.

Ai Cocci Ristorante was an excellent dining experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding, clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients. All the pasta was freshly made, and you could really taste the difference in both texture and flavor. Every dish felt authentic, well balanced, and deeply satisfying. The service was equally impressive. The staff were warm, kind, and attentive without being intrusive, which made the overall experience even more enjoyable. A special highlight was the tiramisu, which was easily one of the best we’ve had—perfectly creamy, rich, and not overly sweet. Overall, Ai Cocci is a place we would happily return to and highly recommend.

A hidden gem, true authentic Italian experience without any touristy nonsense. We loved our time so much that we returned for another meal during our short stay in Rome. Our amazing waiter Emanuele was extremely welcoming and passionate and took the time to recommend some excellent wine pairings with the dishes we selected. Not only was the service exceptional, the food was mind blowing. Would particularly recommend the Cacio e Pepe and tiramisu photos reflect the two visits.

Impromptu lunch reservation on a Sunday as was desperate for my Wife to try Jerusalem artichoke and this was the nearest place with good reviews. Lunch turned out to be the best meal of our Rome trip (and we ate well). Fantastic menu, the cacio e pepe and wild boar ragu were delicious. Friendly service. Oh and the Jerusalem artichoke were amazing and a hit with the family.

An amazing place! Best amatriciana we have had in Rome! Ravioli with ricotta and spinach were super tasty and the sage butter complemented it sooo well. The service was super attentive and nice to chat with! We felt really cozy and welcomed! Chocolate panna cotta was creamy and milky! Absolutely worth visiting!

First and foremost, the waiter was one of the best we encountered and not just in Rome. He was nice, fast and kind. The food was excellent. Portions were big, and for the first time ever my husband coudnt finish his. I didnt take a photo of our coffee, but again 5/5stars.

Restaurant is nice but tables are a bit too close, food is delicious, portions are nice and prices are reasonable. Service is nice and pleasant, better then in most of Rome, you don't feel unwelcome there. Worth visiting
